Building a Bounce-Back Teen - April 12th @ OKM

April 07, 2016

Why are some children and youth able to recover quickly when faced with a difficulty or challenge in their life and others take longer and struggle more?  How can you, as a parent/guardian or someone who works with youth, help them tap into their strengths and develop coping skills to build resilience?

The Okanagan Mission Secondary School Parent Advisory Council is pleased to host the resiliency education presentation Building a Bounce‑Back Teen on Tuesday, April 12th from 6:30pm to 8pm.  Due to the extremely positive response to our January event, we are excited to offer this excellent presentation for a second time and invite everyone who would like to attend!

Teenagers are dealing with social, emotional, and cognitive changes that are still in progress.  Please come out on April 12th to learn strategies to help teens develop the building blocks for bouncing back:  problem‑solving, emotional intelligence, and healthy perceptions.

Registration is requested for this FREE event.  Please email fionasherwood@shaw.ca to register.  Seats are limited. An email confirming your registration will be provided.

You do not have to be the parent/guardian of an OKM student to attend this presentation.  Please share this information with anyone you know who might be interested in joining us.  All are welcome to register.

We hope you will join us for this Canadian Mental Health Association presentation.
